The board of directors of Hospital District No. One, which owns St. Luke Hospital, announced at the annual meeting Friday that "plans for the future are to build a clinic for physicians." The announcement was made by board chairman Albert Klenda.
Women of the community are concerned. They don't want to lose the little antique fountain in Central Park. The city commission decided that the fountain was wasting a great deal of water, as it ran continuously and did not recycle the water. A few weeks ago they voted to cut off the water and to plant the pool area to flowers. Action was delayed to see if money could be raised to correct the problem.
Among Marion County police officers honored during National Police Week were city policeman Bob Soyez, Undersheriff Mike Childs, Sheriff June Jost, Police Chief Ken Hoffman, patrolman Bob Hoffman, State Troopers Frank Boyle, John Stultz and Ken Monroe.
Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Stutzman and Mr. and Mrs. Don Stutzman and family of Hesston and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wanner of Germany called on Mr. and Mrs. Fred Klein of the Aulne community Saturday afternoon. Mr. Wanner had painted the barn on the Klein farm a number of years ago when the Cliff Stutzmans lived there and he was a prisoner of war.
Deb Hett was installed May 1st as president of District G of the Future Homemakers of America. The installation took place at a Kansas FHA state meeting at Century II in Wichita. Deb will attend the national convention in Washington, D.C., this July.
