More than 250 members of the American Agriculture Movement protested Carter administration farm policies Saturday outside of Century II in Wichita.

A trainload of eight 68-foot long pre-stressed concrete bridge spans rolled into Marion last week. Parked on the railroad siding near the Co-Op elevator Tuesday night, they were transported Wednesday to the bridge site of the Marion flood control channel west of town where big cranes lifted them onto bridge pilings.

Senior Warrior fullback Casey Case was awarded the game ball Friday night, but the Cheney Cardinals walked off the turf at Warrior Stadium with a 29-22 victory. Case, a 185-lb. senior, surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing barrier for the season and gained 149 yards on 19 carries.

Gayla Gutsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gutsch, and David Mueller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mueller, were crowned queen and king Friday evening during the half-time ceremony of the Centre-Chase County game.

A juvenile boy was stabbed with a small knife in the restroom at Warrior Stadium just before half-time Friday night. According to City Patrolman Bob Hoffman, the boy suffered a puncture wound to the shoulder during the course of a fight with at least one other juvenile. The youths involved are Marion residents. The boys have been turned over to the custody of their parents.

Friday afternoon brought a surprise to the west wing of St. Luke Hospital when Brad Wildin and Steve Widler came into the dining room carrying a walnut stereo unit. Without saying a word, they set it in place, adjusted it, and turned it on. The stereo was presented to the west wing as a gift from the VFW Auxiliary in memory of Evelyn Lutt.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Krch of rural Lincolnville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 22 when they renewed their marriage vows at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. This was followed by a family basket dinner in the basement of the church.
