Larry Reiswig was installed Monday as 1981-82 president of Marion Kiwanis Club. The club presented Helen Case with certificates of appreciation in memory of her deceased husband, Alex Case.. He was the last surviving charter member of the Marion Kiwanis Club until his death last month. The club was first chartered in 1923.

Tammy Sandwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sandwell, is enrolled in the business course at Flint Hills Area Vo-Tech School in Emporia. She is a 1981 graduate of Marion High School.

Mr. and Mrs. John Loomis of Marion have returned from a week-long trip to Washington, D.C., and surrounding area. They spent one day on Capitol Hill in Washington, attended a morning session of the U.S. Senate as guests of Sen. Bob Dole, and spent the afternoon visiting the House of Representatives.

Those attending the Oct. 12 meeting of Cadette Girl Scout Troop 66 were Amy White, April Ogden, Wendy Hett, Jane Silhan, Marcia Gooding, Kelley Enos, Brenda Smith, Tonya Johnson and leaders, Polly Ferrell and Carol Gill.

Jerry Winkley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Winkley of Marion and a 1978 MHS graduate, is a senior at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo., majoring in pastoral training and biblical studies.

City councilmen at Florence are seeking ways to remove a 200-foot log jam along the Cottonwood River at the east edge of town. City officials have contacted members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for assistance in the cleanup operation.

Roger Hoffman and other members of the Knights of Columbus sold Tootsie Roll candy on downtown streets Saturday to raise funds for the benefit of the retarded. Pictured buying a Tootsie Roll from Hoffman, and making a contribution to the fund, is Mrs. Warren Olson of Lincolnville.

Cerita Konecny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Konecny of Marion, has enrolled as a freshman at Kansas Newman College, Wichita.
