More than 300 people attended the laymen's special Thanksgiving program held last Tuesday evening in Marion Municipal Auditorium. They were treated to entertainment and responded to Rev. Bill Nelsen and the Marion Ministerial Alliance with a generous donation of cash. The offering will be used to help at least six Marion families during Christmas. It also will be used to help the needy throughout the year. Entertainment came in the form of a play, "Marion's Family Home For Thanksgiving," written by Jean Holmes. The cast included Robert Edmunds, Polly Ferrell, Rosie Plenert, and Lois Winters. A program followed.

Double ring wedding vows were exchanged Nov. 10 by Leona Louise Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Richmond of Marion, and Ronald A. Hajek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hajek of Lost Springs. Father Gerald Pathe officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony in St. Mark Catholic Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Collett of Spring Hill announce the birth of a son Nathan Amos at 2:51 p.m. Nov. 15.

Purest drink of water in Marion County can be had at Florence. Springs north of town fill the 8,000 gallon water tower, built in 1921. The springs supply 350 city homes with as much as five millions gallons of water a month.

Forrest Smith, agent for Scully Estates in Marion, Dickinson and Butler counties, was the speaker at Kiwanis Monday. Introduced by Lester Griffith, Smith told the history of Scully Estates and answered numerous questions.

Aulne Sunday School Class 7 had a housewarming and soup supper for Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Richter in Peabody Nov. 14. Others enjoying the event were Justine Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGinness, Mr. and Mrs. Ern Hett, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Just, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Darrow, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Unruh, Mrs. Ron Hett, Walt Hett and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Richter. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lindholm of Cheney joined the group to surprise her twin sister, Mrs. Jesse Richter, on her birthday.
