An elegant star, appearing silver in daylight and sparkling with brilliant lights at night is the center of attraction in Central Park. Bill Wray, skilled metal craftsman who last year created two tall, slender green trees for the park display, assembled the star and two candles this fall. A picture of the Holy Infant in the center of the star reminds passers-by of the spiritual and essential meaning of Christmas.

Marion Warrior halfback Casey Case has been named to the Wichita Eagle Class 3A All-State first string offensive football team. Jeff Richmond was selected for honorable mention at fullback for the offensive unit.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ison of Hays announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Eloise to Glenn Kerbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Kerbs of Tampa. The wedding is planned for Dec. 30 at Lindsborg.

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hamm celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at their home Saturday. Refreshments were served to 25 guests. Hosts for the occasion were the couple's children, Mr. and Mrs. John Riffel of Salina and Dennis Hamm of Marion.

The Marion Warrior freshman basketball squad lost to Circle on a last second basket, but Warrior head coach Marion Ogden expects good things from the group. Team members are Tom Schaffer, Brian Hess, Doug Regnier, Andy Edwardson, Stan Williams, Jeff Harris, and Jon Wiebe.

The John Hett family enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinner in the Aulne church basement with 71 members in attendance. There also were four visitors.
