Santa Claus has scheduled a three-town tour through eastern Marion County Saturday. The red-clad gentleman will have a busy day on his sweep through Florence, Marion and Lincolnville, chatting with children about their Christmas wishes.

Feebie Holdeman and Nathan Smith, her son, spliced through ribbon cutting ceremonies Friday morning at their new downtown offices for Marion Shelter Insurance. The local agents were greeted by Marion Chamber of Commerce president Larry Loomis and chamber executive secretary Marsha Ames. Among the 25 others who were on hand for the open house were Mayor Peggy Blackman and Shelter Insurance state manager Bob Solon and regional manager Marilyn Robb.

The South Hutchinson United Methodist Church was the setting Nov. 13 for the double ring ceremony uniting Carol Diane Gill and Randal Boyd Vogel in marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwain G. Gill of rural Sylvia. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Vogel, rural Marion, are parents of the groom.

Michon Schroeder, bride-elect of Tim Christensen, was guest of honor at a come and go miscellaneous and kitchen shower Sunday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Mrs. Gerald Kline, Mrs. Caleb Abbott, Mrs. Jim Vogel, Mrs. Jim Christensen, Mrs. Marvin Hett and Mrs. Bill Higgins.

Mick Summervill, representing position two on the Marion Unified School District board of education, announced following the meeting Monday night, that he will not seek re-election.
