Last Thursday's happy winners in the big weekly drawing for boys and girls were the following: Glenn Bartel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bartel, won the bicycle (he won one last year, too); Janice Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bowers; Susie Lundgren, daughter of Mrs. Bill Razor; and Mark Tajchman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tajchman.
Mrs. Ruth Matthews attended the district Peter Pan Company meeting and Christmas party Dec. 15 in Junction City. It was announced that the Marion Peter Pan store had won a sales promotion contest for this district.
A group of friends met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wiebe Saturday evening and enjoyed a potluck dinner of homemade noodles and chicken and Christmas trimmings. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Schimpf, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Seibel, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hatterman, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Christensen, Cindy, Cynthia, Sherie, and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Winter, Kathy and Earl, Clarence Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Edson Childs and Marsha Ann and Mark Childs, and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wiebe and Dickie.
The entertaining adult basketball team, the Marion "Mashers," won their second game from Canada Grain Thursday night. Gary Harder led the Masher attack with 23 points followed by Boyce Baumgardner and Don Druse with 15 apiece, Gerry Harris and Jim Link with 12, Jay Jost with 11, and Tom Shirley with 10.
