The Marion County RECORD held the drawing of lucky names in their Christmas subscription special offer Dec. 31, as advertised, with the following results: Frank Holub won the first prize, his choice of an Underwood portable typewriter or an Olivetti adding machine. Second prize, a genuine Tensor study lamp, was won by Martin Jantz. Four third prizes of Rand-McNally atlases were won by Mrs. Don Berg, Otto Bentz, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ronsick, and Mildred Knoblock.
The medical staff of St. Luke Hospital held its annual election of officers recently, with the following to hold office for 1967: Dr. C.R. Magee, chief of staff; Dr. James A. Wheeler, vice president; and Dr. R.R. Melton, secretary-treasurer.
Mr. and Mrs. William Rex Berry of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth, to John R. Summerville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Summerville of Wichita. No wedding date has been set.
A/1c and Mrs. Ora N. Hett of Abilene, Texas, announce the birth of a daughter, Jacqueline Sue, Jan. 5. She is the couple's first child and weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces.
Ralph Teetzen, 1941 graduate of Tampa High School and a veteran officer of 13 years with the Kansas Highway Patrol, was guest speaker Friday evening at the holiday alumni banquet of Tampa graduates and their guests in the Catholic hall. More than 175 attended the annual dinner and dance.
A big change as taken place across the land. Republicans have replaced Democrats. Reagan took over as governor of California, Rockefeller became governor of Arkansas, and Bud Hannaford was installed as president of the Marion Kiwanis Club.
