George Lorei of Ramona has a 5-year-old Whiteface cow which is the envy of every farmer in Marion County. A week ago Sunday she gave birth to triplet calves.
Marion High School students rated high at the district festival held Saturday at Sterling College. Those receiving Is were Maurita Deines and Anita Hett, poetry; John Loney and Beverly Hoch, oration; Mary Beth Kjellin, informative speech; and the Marion one-act play, "To Burn A Witch." The play cast included Roxie Hague, Janice Jantz, Shelley Hett, and Susan Yeagley.
Kris Pagenkopf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pagenkopf of Lincolnville, will represent the Gilbert- Poppe Auxiliary of the American Legion Post at Girls' State to be held in June at the University of Kansas.
Mrs. Etta Richmond has received word that Ray Richmond of Wichita has been sent by the Boeing Company on a field trip to Everett, Wash., where he will work for the next few months.
Jim Magee, Darold and David Longhofer, and Dennis Conyers are spending their spring break from college skiing in Colorado.
Melinda Collett celebrated her seventh birthday Friday by having four girl friends come home with her after school for a party and supper. The girls were Barbara Lammert, Debbie Freeman, Janelle Albrecht, and Lynley Gutsch.
The Corlberg-Smith American Legion and Auxiliary will send Debra Erickson to Girls' State this spring. Debra is a Centre High School junior and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Erickson of Burdick.
