Marion Elementary School students are rehearsing for the performance of "The Magic Fiddle" to be presented Thursday and Friday in Marion Municipal Auditorium. Included in the cast are Barbara Boyle, who plays the part of Bianca; Jim Richmond, Marco; Carol Steinel, Francesca; Jim Coe, Harlequin; Doug Krause, Pierrot; and Peggy Nelson, Pierette.

Linda Bauman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bauman of Marion, was one of three students selected at Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia to attend a public affairs conference at Principia College, Elsah, Ill. The students were selected from the political science department.

Gene Winkler has just completed a parts management course conducted at Ford Motor Company's Dallas Marketing Institute. He is parts manager of Marion Motor Center.

The school board of Marion, Florence, and Peabody met in Marion Tuesday evening in a joint session to get information about possible unification of two or more of the districts.

The Marion Warriors track team placed third in the Emporia relays on Thursday in the Class B events. Gary Melcher took three first place awards and in two events broke the record of the meet which has been running for 22 years. He won the shotput and took the record in javelin and discus.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Tajchman of Lincolnville announce the birth of their first child April 13 at St. Luke Hospital. Their daughter, Jessica Marie, weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce.

The Kansas Fish and Game Commission at Pratt has announced that they now have added a total of 3,000,000 northern pike to the new Marion Reservoir.
