Fifteen local Boy Scouts and their leaders enjoyed a weekend camporee at the McPherson City Park on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Scouts attending were Billy Finke, Ricky Schwendiman, Roger Hannaford, Randy Perkins, John Higgins, Doug Marler, Daryl Enos, Dennis Helmer, Dennis Schafers, Henry Bingaman, Merle Nelson, Robert Nelson, Ricky Carlson, Doug Krause, and Roger Schmidtberger.

The annual meeting of the baby alumni of St. Luke Hospital will be held this Saturday at St. Mark's Activity Center. Ladies of the Hospital Division of Community Guild will assist the Sisters with the program, fun, prizes, and refreshments.

Boatswain's Mate Third Class Ronald G. Kelsey, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kelsey of Marion, has reported for duty at the Naval Support Activity in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Mrs. Harvey Kruse and Mrs. Dwight Kruse entertained members of their Sunday school classes of Strassburg Baptist Church with a dinner Sunday noon after church. Those attending were Diane Weber, Judy Kreutziger, Diana Evans, Autumn Kaufman, Barry Seifert, Gail Whiteman, Mark Heiser, Ronnie Weber, Debra Kreutziger, Janet and Daryl Ehrlich, Joyce Whiteman, Jan Kleiber, Mary Lou Heiser, Kim Kaufman, Sherry Poague, Laurel Bernhardt, and Doug Fisher.

Births announced in this week's issue included a daughter, Gretchen, born Oct. 1 to Dr. and Mr. Martin Klenda of Perris, Calif.; a daughter, Brenda Jo, born Oct. 12 to Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Sloan of Topeka; a son, Andrew Shawn, born Oct. 16 to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Krause of Marion; and a son, Jeffrey Dean, born Oct. 17 to Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bina of Marion.

A group of women, former pupils of the Grapes School and Grapes Sunday school and church, met with Mrs. Walter Hayen Thursday afternoon for an afternoon of visiting and fellowship.
