The change in ownership and management of St. Luke Hospital will be marked by a short ceremony Saturday afternoon. Sister Mary Scholastica, CRNA, has been given permission to stay in Marion at St. Luke Hospital during the month of June to help make the transition period easier. At the present time, she is head of the nursing staff and hospital anesthetist. After June 1, Mrs. D.H. Paul, RN, will be director of nursing.

Announcement is made this week of the selling of Kingfisher's Inn at Marion County Lake to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Finke. The restaurant, regarded as one of the best in central Kansas, was opened 18 years ago by Mr. and Mrs. George King.

The two banks of Marion held drawings on Saturday during the sidewalk sale, with many people taking part to join in the fun and hope to win a prize. The winner of the $25 bond given by the Farmers and Drovers National Bank was Curtis C. Hutchens of Lincolnville. At the Marion National Bank, savings accounts were won in the following amounts by Jay Beaston $15, Mrs. Al Bernhardt $10, and Maurita Deines $5.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Beaston, Marty and Brook and Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Pierce attended baccalaureate services in Lawrence Sunday evening. Jill Kline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kline, was a member of the graduating class.

Scholarship awards were presented on Thursday of last week at the annual awards ceremony at Marion High School. Principal James Weinmann presented the awards as follows: Freshman scholar, a tie with perfect 3.00 grade point averages, Deborra Case, Braddock Case, Eric Meyer, and Mary Robinson; Sophomore, also a tie at 3.00, Wayne Conyers and Vickie Klassen; Junior, Gregory Bowers; and Senior (valedictorian), John Loney.
