The downtown business area and valley residences were doused by dirty waters Wednesday following nearly eight inches of rainfall during the past few days. Water was as high as three feet deep in the business section of the town and lapped in on the floors of several stores.
Mr. and Mrs. James F. Smith of Marion are the parents of a baby daughter, Brenda Marie, born June 21 at St. Luke Hospital. She has a brother Nathan, who is 4, and a sister Valerie, who is 14 months.
Miss Jean Morse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger H. Morse of Marion, recently was honored when she was named most honored senior in the School of Speech at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill.
The congregation of Strassburg Baptist Church is enjoying new air conditioning system.
