Miss Darlene Pecinovsky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Pecinovsky of Tampa, was voted Marion High school homecoming queen and reigned over the second half of the Marion-Peabody football game Friday night. Her attendants were Michelle Hett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hett, and Teresa Seifert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Seifert.
Chris Jost, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Jost, was host at a Halloween party at the Jost home Oct. 30. Little goblins attending were Marc Smith, Mark Rindt, Gary Hett, David Richter, and Ronald Cook. Refreshments of hot dogs, Jell-O, chips, candied apples, and orange "witches brew" were served.
Cadette Girl Scouts of Troop 62 were busy Monday afternoon in the basement of the Peabody church as they folded and stuffed the 1967 shipment of Christmas seals in envelopes. Scouts who helped were Laura Brose, Debbi Case, Joanie Elling, Jane Lentz, Teresa Hett, Susie Wood, Shirley Hamm, Lola Seibel, Marsha Steinel, Janice Bowers, Janet Lawrence, Brenda Richmond, and Donna Anderson. Mrs. Earl Wood is their leader.
Thanks in large part to the victory scored last week by the Hillsboro Trojans over the Herington Railroaders, the Marion Warriors now share top billing in the more powerful than ever Cottonwood Valley League gridiron race.
Mrs. Jack Richmond invited a number of guests to a surprise birthday party Saturday evening in honor of her husband's 30th birthday. The evening was spent playing cards. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Conyers, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Conyers, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Whiteman, and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lee Ehrlich.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Winchester and son Bob attended a men's hair styling seminar on Sunday at the Broadview Hotel in Wichita. Bob is attending barber school in Wichita.
