The Marion Local Housing Authority (LHA) Monday evening went on record to investigate the possibility of a 'turn-key" type of development for the proposed 20 units of low rent housing for the elderly here.
Roxanne Zerger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Zerger of Marion, was crowned queen of the 37th annual Marion County Fair in Hillsboro last Thursday evening. The crown was turned over to Miss Zerger by Judy Pankratz, Marion, who was queen of the fair last year. Other finalists were Helen Jackson and Barbara Christensen, also of Marion.
Ann and Jan Bryant, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bryant, celebrated their fifth birthday Aug. 25 with a "Lollypop Party." Those present were Ethel and Rose Cox, Janene Dreier, Greta and Gena Helmer, Debbie Henry, Sherri Rigler, Lisa Wilson, and Meg Wingerd. Also on hand were the girls' brothers, Stephen and David, and their cousins, Doug and Darrel Priddle of Raytown, Mo. The children's aunt, Susan Yeagley, assisted with games and refreshments.
Wedding vows were exchanged in August at St. Mark Catholic Church by Alice Rose Kraus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kraus of Marion, and Allen Thomas Trego, son of Mrs. Mary Trego of Newton and Allen E. Trego of Plains.
Seaman Gene Hein, who is stationed on the USS Mount Baker, and Mrs. Hein of San Francisco, Calif., are visiting his mother, Mrs. Mary Mae Hein and girls.
Three small children were dedicated Sunday morning at the Strassburg Baptist Church. They were Alan Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Griswold, Scott Alan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Heidebrecht, and Melissa Gail, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Krispense.
