Money continues to come in for the popular project at Marion High School to restore and display all the photographs of previous graduating classes. Mrs. Jessie Muck has taken charge of the project. To date, over $1,000 has been contributed, but there still needs to be several hundred dollars more before the project has enough funds.
Stanley May, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis May, was injured when the helicopter on which he is a gunner crashed in Vietnam. Stanley suffered a broken arm and brain concussion. He is doing fine, however, and out of the hospital. Stanley has flown 45 combat missions as a gunner, stationed at Qui Nhon.
Miss Janice Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hoffman, Marion, began work as a licensed practical nurse at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Two Cedar Point men have pledged fraternities at Kansas State University. They are David Crofoot who pledged Alpha Gamma Rho, and Michael Robinson, who pledged Beta Theta Pi.
The National Association of Campers and Hikers held its fall state convention at Tuttle Creek over the Labor Day weekend. Those attending from Marion were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Holmes and Lisa, Terry Plenert, Teresa Case, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bredemeier and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Finke and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Rittgers and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Covey, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Bredemeier, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Enos and family. Mrs. Norman Plenert joined the group on Sunday.
Barbara Christensen of Marion is one of more than 70 students selected to serve as leaders for freshman seminars this coming year at Kansas State University,.
