Another attractive new building has been added to Marion's business district. Tim Williams recently constructed a 40x50 all steel and insulated shop alongside his Ford tractor agency. The new building will be used mainly for shop purposes and the north building will be used for office, parts, and display purposes.

Who's had the longest continuous telephone service in Marion at the same address? The late B.V. Higgins of Route 3 had service in his home for 66 years prior to his death in January. Nodie Baker of 127 Billings is a close second with 62 years at that address. Margaret C. Berry of Leavenworth topped the list of more than 600 persons replying to Southwestern Bell's recent inquiry by noting her family has had service in its home for 88 years.

Rita Oller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oller and a senior at Marion High School, left by train from Newton March 28 on the annual Easter Trip to Washington D.C.

The senior class of Marion High School will present a three-act comedy, "Curtain Going Up" on Friday at the city building. Members of the cast include Joan Elling, Sharon Kroupa, Marilee McGinness, Laura Brose, Shirley Hamm, Linda Wray, Geraldean Warneke, Jean Holt, Pam Harp, Diane Weber, Greg May, Bill Finke, Mike Edmunds, Brent Colle, Lou Wegerer, Doug Marler, Joey Ragole, Jane Bingaman, Rick Schwendiman, Rose Goentzel, Leonard Schafers, Joanne Popp, Darlene Vinduska, Roger Hannaford, Kathy Regnier, Janice Bowers, Richard Bowers and Henry Bingaman.

Lynn Kleiber, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kleiber of Ramona, is touring Kansas and Missouri with the 34-voice McPherson College choir.

Ben Dwyer of Wichita caught a record-setting 4 pound 1 ounce Kentucky Bass this past week at the Marion County Lake. Just a week earlier, Dwyer caught a Kansas Master Angler award for a 2 pound 4 ounce Kentucky which he also caught at the Marion County Lake.

Airman First Class Kenneth W. Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. Hoffman of rural Marion, has received the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal at McConnell AFB, Wichita. Airman Hoffman distinguished himself by meritorious service as a fuels specialist at Nakhon Phanon Royal Tai AFB, Thailand.
