Again this year, Marion High School will honor four students at commencement exercises. Three of them will be named class valedictorians, representing the unusually large number of students that this year's senior class has in the upper level of academic achievement. Tying for tri-valedictorian honors are Marilee McGinness, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGinness; Sharon Kroupa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kroupa; and Geraldeen Warneke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Warneke. Brent Colle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Colle, was close behind the three girls and will receive the salutatorian award.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Holub of route four received a pleasant surprise last week when they saw their three sons pictured on page 12 of the May 15 issue of Time magazine. The boys all serve as armament men aboard the carrier Constellation off the coast of Vietnam. They load bombs on the airplanes which are attacking the Communist forces. Dan, Terry, and Frank Holub were also featured recently in the Navy Times.

Mrs. Terry Vinduska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kleiber of rural Ramona, has been named to the Phi Kappa Phi honor society at Kansas State University.

Cadet Captain Gary W. Hammer has been selected outstanding leader in Austin Peay State University's ROTC unit. Cadet Hammer, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hammer of Marion, will graduate in 1973 with a major in sociology and a commission in the Army.

Mr. and Mrs. August Ollek announce the engagement of their daughter, Joan, to Earl Winter, son of Mrs. Ruben Winter and the late Mr. Winter. An August wedding is planned.

Four dispatchers from the Marion County Sheriff's office attended a teletype and radio school Tuesday at Clay Center. Sheriff Jost took Vada Palmer, Sterling Frame, Nettie Rittel and Beverly Hanes to Clay Center for the day.
