Bought, delivered, set up, and paid for are vital statistics of one unit of the coronary care center for St. Luke Hospital. The cost for installing the first unit was $4,250. The next unit will be set up in the same room and will cost less. Total cost for the two units will be $6,500. All revenues for the purchase of these units is being met with donations which can be made at either bank in Marion by mail or in person.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Winter of Marion proudly announce the birth of a daughter on June 29 at St. Luke Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces and was given the name of Wendy Sue.

Mrs. Viola Jost was the honored guest at a courthouse farewell party Friday to mark the termination of her office as superintendent of schools for Marion County. She had served more than 13 years. With Mrs. Jost went the whole office, records, work and even the space passes into the hands of others.

Diann, Gerald, Denise, Joni, Janice, Loraine and Loreen Wiens took their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wiens, out to dinner Sunday to celebrate the couple's 20th wedding anniversary which was June 26.

Marion County Commissioners drove to northwest Marion County Monday to survey storm damage from a flash flood, hail, and winds of Thursday, June 26. They returned in somber spirits. Bridges were swept down the streams, approaches to bridges were washed away, roads were missing, livestock was gone, buildings were damaged, but the haunting miserable sight of fields with the soil gone seemed to be most distressing.

Mr. and Mrs. Omer Prather announce the engagement of their daughter, Phyllis, to Dennis Scharenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Scharenberg of Florence. A December wedding is planned.

A bridal shower was held June 27 in the Lincolnville Legion hall for Miss Ruth Lais, bride-elect of Lee Kaiser. Hostesses were Mrs. Alfred Beneke, Mrs. Alex Brunner, Mrs. Lauren Brunner, Mrs. Monty Montgomery, Mrs. Willis Peterson and Mrs. Fred Shields.
