Santa will arrive Saturday, riding into town on a big red fire truck and throwing out special snowballs which have been filled with cash. All children will want to be present to get a chance to catch a snowball filled with cash.

The cultural arts committee of the PRIDE program met Monday evening in the Marion Municipal Building for the purpose of organizing a Community Arts Council. Those elected to the board of the council are Mrs. Dean Batt, Mrs. Gerry Harp. Mrs. John Daly, Dr. Caleb Abbott, Ed Costello, Rev. Ray Ewing, Ernest Hett, Mrs. John D. Hett, Jim Loney, E.D. Longhofer, Mrs. Gail Merrill, W.M. Pierce, and Leroy Riggs.

Dear Santa: I won't be 2 until March, so Mommy is writing this for me. She says I have been pretty good this year, so please, Santa, could I have a car or something to drive around in for Christmas" I will have some good cookies and milk waiting for you. Love ya, Santa. Jessey Hiebert.

Marion High School Swing Singers have postponed their Christmas program, "Amahl and the Night Visitors," until Saturday, December 23, at 8 p.m., in the Marion Municipal Auditorium. The program was originally scheduled for Dec. 9.

A big part of each visit of the Red Cross Bloodmobile to Marion is the superb canteen service provided by members of the American Legion Auxiliary. Money to help pay for canteen expenses is provided by clubs, but the actual work of running the canteen is done by a faithful group of ladies including Mrs. Clive Jarvis, Mrs. Robert Westbrook, and Mrs. George McCulloch.

Dave Deutschendorf, high school basketball coach, was the speaker at Kiwanis on Monday. He told prospects for the coming season. The team has some "fine material" according to the coach but will also have "fierce competition" in the league. He feels that with spirit and determination, the Warriors can be a big factor in the CVL race.

St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen, was the setting for the double ring wedding ceremony uniting Donna Sue Holub and Eugene Shramek in holy matrimony. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Arthur Tonne performed the ceremony at 2 p.m. Nov. 11.
