Forbes Air Force Base officials at Topeka this week informed the Marion County Record that new low level flying routes have been planned for this area and that the 313th Tactical Airlift Wing, stationed at Forbes, will be practicing low level operations in and near Marion County. The wing started the new routes Oct. 31.

The organizational meeting of the Hospital Auxiliary of Hospital District No. 1, will be held at 2 p.m. November 16 at St. Mark's Activity Center. Membership will be open to all people who are interested in St. Luke Hospital, owned by Hospital District No. 1 and operated by Lutheran Hospital and Homes Society.

Mrs. A.J. Hett attended Parents' Day at Southwestern College, Winfield, November 7. The Hetts' daughter Anita, is enrolled as a freshman at the college. Mrs. Hett was accompanied by Mrs. Russell Hett who spent the day with her son, Melvin, a sophomore at Southwestern.

Marion girls who played on the volleyball A team at Florence Monday night were Linda Bernhardt, Kathy Weigart, Cindy Esslinger, Janice Bowers, Lisa Holmes, Linda Annis and JoAnn Lunderman. B-team players were Virginia Soukup, Teresa Smith, Debbie Enos, Beverly Swanson, Susan Eilerts, Shelley Finke, Sandy Marler, Dena Edmisson, Debbie Douglas, Melody Meier, and Barbara Boyle.

Mrs. Charles Magee, Mrs. Leroy Riggs and Mrs. Roger Morse were in Manhattan last Thursday to attend a workshop of talking books and films that will be available at our library.

Barbara Gantz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Gantz, is a member of the Kansas State University marching band. Barbara is a sophomore majoring in speech.
