Bill Holmes was installed Friday as president of Marion Chamber of Commerce. He succeeds Wint Smith, who has been president for the past year. Dick Bredemeier was elected vice-president. Trustees are Max Jackson, Rosse Case, Matthew Classen and Jack Regnier.

Alan Pegorsch has purchased the Marion Cycle Center from Steve Greenemeyer. He will continue to sell the full line of Broncco motorbikes and will add another line of motorcycles in the spring.

The Florence-Marion Chapter of the International Thespian Society, high school drama club, held pledging ceremonies for 14 new members Monday in the auditorium at Marion High School. New members included Randy Conyers, Greg May, Willabeth Meier, Karen Pankratz, Marilee McGinness, Dennis Schafers, Barry Seifert, Teri Walker, Andy Ferrell, Arlene Gaffney, Pat Heinz, Ed Hett, Theresa Hett, and Jeff Longhofer.

Larry Jost of Marion was elected chairman of the Marion County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) at the county convention Monday. Warren Fike was elected vice-chairman and Edmund Steiner was named regular member for the 1972 term.

Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Longhofer, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoover and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Heinz entertained the Swing Singers at a party at the Longhofer home Saturday evening following their performance of "Amahl and the Night Visitors." Additional guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Forsyth and David Stroud.

Mrs. Kenneth Sandwell invited some of Kerry's friends in Monday morning to help him celebrate his 6th birthday. Those who enjoyed games and cake and ice cream were Tracy Hett, Robbie Hett, Scott Kelsey, Kerry Magathan, Jay Sandwell and the honor guest.

The final eight prize winners in the Marion Chamber of Commerce kids contest Thursday night were Cindy Moody, Mollie Ferrell, Casey Case, Lori Hett, Ethel Cox, Jeff Burkholder, Julie Grentz and Karen Silhan. The names were drawn by Nathan Smith.

Don Fruechting of Marion and K.C. Widler of Burns attended the American Farm Bureau annual meeting held last week in Chicago.
