Harold Ensley, the "Sportsman's Friend" of television fame will be the main speaker of the evening at the 25th annual Marion County Soil Conservation District meeting to be held Monday, February 8.

Two Marion seventh grade boys, Jim Hoch, son of Mrs. Wharton Hoch, and David Colburn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Colburn, served all day Tuesday in the Kansas Senate chambers as pages for Senator John Crofoot.

Major William E. Markham, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Markham of Marion, has received the Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding service as an intelligence officer in the Army.

Priscilla J. Ewing, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Raymond Ewing, has been named by General Mills as the 1971 Betty Crocker "Homemaker of Tomorrow" for Marion High School.

James Donahue attended the Grain and Feed Dealers Association show in Omaha, Neb., during the past week. Donahue Manufacturing Co., Inc., had an exhibit at the show.

The annual Queen of Courts" homecoming basketball game will be this Friday when Marion hosts Herington. Candidates for queen are Sandy Anderson, Ginger Helmer, and Pam Griffith.

Marion County's oldest citizen, Mrs. Mattie Harrison, enjoyed her birthday at Spain Guest Home Jan. 30 with a big cake inscribed with the numerals "104."

Michael R. Bredemeier, Marion High School senior and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bredemeier, has been nominated by Congressman Garner Shriver to compete for an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
