Marion County Rural Water District No. 1 will assure 150 families in the Tampa area of modern water services is an established fact. Farmers Home Administration has informed them that a $229,000 loan and $75,000 grant have been approved for the district to build a rural community water system.

Two Marion High School graduating seniors have been selected to live in scholarship halls at the University of Kansas next fall. They are Tom Loney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Loney, and Eric Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Meyer.

Mrs. Reuben Zerger, Mrs. Clinton Ewert, Mrs. Earl Wood, and Mrs. Eugene Enos attended a day camp training session last Thursday at Cottonwood Falls. Mrs. Zerger will be the Girl Scout day camp director this year.

Roxanne M. Hague, a sophomore at Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, is a candidate for an Associated Student Government position for next fall. Roxanne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard W. Hague, Marion.

Sgt. Leslie L. Lalouette, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Lalouette of Florence, is a member of the 58th Tactical Fighter Training Wing at Luke AFB, Arizona, which has earned the U.S. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

Winners in the recent snooker tournament at "The Q" were Don Rittgers, first; Byron McCarty Sr. and Tip McFadden tied for second; and John Gutsch, fourth.

Bryce Ollenberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ollenberger of Marion and a student at the University of Kansas, has been selected from among a group of 140 applicants to sing at the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City during the summer months.

20th Century Fox has announced tentative plans to produce a movie in the Wichita and south-central Kansas Area. The film is entitled "Ace Eli and Roger of the Skies."
