Open house for Hilltop Manor, 1501 East Lawrence Street, Marion, on Sunday will feature a dedication ceremony for the 28-unit low income housing development for elderly persons and a reception hosted by board members of Marion Housing Authority, as well as a tour of the facilities.

The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Company is asking for authority to serve the stations of Tampa and Durham on a "request of patrons basis" through its agent at Herington.

Janet Werner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Werner of West Islip, New York, and Phillip G. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Smith of Lincolnville, were married July 3 at Sisseton, South Dakota.

Ninety-five men and three officers of the Kansas National Guard 772nd Engineering Company camped at Marion Athletic Field Saturday night. A convoy of 33 trucks arrived late Saturday afternoon, then left at 6 a.m. Sunday. The Fort Scott-based soldiers were en route home following a two-week summer camp at Camp Guernsey, Wyoming.

Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Creamer of Florence announce the marriage of their daughter, Linda Creamer, McPherson, to Ronald Kelsey, Marion, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kelsey. The couple was married July 12 in First Christian Church, Emporia.

Debra Kay Enos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Eugene Enos, will arrive in Long Beach, California, July 26 to participate in the "Aboard the Queen Mary" special opportunity event for Senior Girl Scouts and British Girl Guides being sponsored by the Greater Long Beach Girl Scout Council through August 10.

A birthday party was given July 20 at the Marion park by Mrs. George E. Waner and Mary Kay in honor of Ann Marie Waner's seventh birthday. Invited guests were Sheryl Bishop, Mickey Costello, Stephanie Loney, Shelia Meisinger, Sherri Grentz, Melissa Robinson, Lori Kelsey, Debra Kreutzman, Sherri Snelling, Jami Shirley, Janene Dreier, Lorains and Loreen Wiens, Diane Bronson, and David Meisinger.

Winners in the annual match play golf tournament at Marion County Club are Jack Webb, championship flight; Wayne Colle, first flight; Ray Vinduska, second flight; Gail Merrill, third flight; and Lynn Christensen, fourth flight.,

The popular Joe Gamache combo will provide music for the dance at James William Miesse Post 22 of the American Legion in Marion this Saturday night, July 31.
