Water tower artists have struck again, in a spirit of neighborliness Marion has "shared" the new big standpipe at the athletic field with Centre Cougar fans. They have adorned it in much the same manner as did MHS Warriors. Now, in a further spirit of goodwill and neighborliness, wouldn't it be wonderful if athletes from those two schools would volunteer to cover the blight with a fresh aluminum coat? If kids really want to do something different, that would be an attention compeller.

Girls' Nation delegate Marilee McGinness of Marion is pictured as she visited with Congressman Garner Shriver on the U.S. Capitol steps. Marilee had lunch with the Congressman during her week-long at Girls' Nation, July 31 to August 7.

Marion players are Rita Oller, Dena Edmisson, Frances Hunt, Janice Bowers, Sharon Kroupa, Sandy Marler, Lisa Holmes, Denice Helmer, Joni Kroupa, Florence Fender, Donna Holub, Martha Beaston, Diana Case, Linda Rejino and Debbie Enos.
