A.W. Haizlip, principal of the Hill grade school, has announced the following results in the election of class officers at Marion High School. Roland Vogel in president of the 8th grade with Don Thompson as vice president, John Shull, secretary, and Elda Pankratz, treasurer. President of the 7th grade class is Laurence Priddle with Jimmy Christensen as vice president, Mary Williams, secretary, and Wayne Thies, treasurer.

A contract has been let this week for rebuilding the three miles of secondary road east from Aulne to join the old highway 77 blacktop. The work calls for replacing three bridges in addition to the road work. The bridges will be the multiple plate steel type.

Mrs. John Just entertained a number of girls Friday afternoon in celebration of her daughter, Johnsie's 13th birthday. Those there for the occasion were Betty Mathews, Elda Pankratz, Diane and Lisa Vinduska, Pat Dixon, Jan Blackwelder, Margie Bernhardt, Margaret McClain, and Joyce Ubben.

The pupils and teacher from the Morning Star school went over to the Kreutziger school Friday afternoon and played baseball. From all reports it proved to be an exciting game, the final score 25-27 in favor of Kreutziger.

Misses Glenda Koch, Barbara Jirak, and Betty Holub were hostesses at the Koch apartment Sept. 25 at a miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Miss Janice Smith. Those present included Misses Violet Krispense, Edna Grimes, Donna Miesse, Vernie Vinduska, Kathryn Popp, Faith Seifert, and Margie Regier. The evening was spent playing games.

The 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Abner Gilbert was celebrated Sunday and the home of their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Propp.
