A strong Moundridge quintet walked off with top honors at the Marion Invitational Christmas holiday basketball tournament last week. However, Jerry Brose, hot Marion basketer, calmly stole the individual scoring honors of the tournament with a total of 40 points, 20 in each game. His easy manner of playing and high percentage of accuracy made him one of the outstanding players of the tourney.

Dr. Eugene N. Duty, pastor of the First Christian Church of Marion for the past seven years, closes his stay here Jan. 8, it is announced this week.

Mr. and Mrs. John Best, Cordell, Okla., announce the marriage of their daughter, Pauline Ruth, to Mr. Robert Stanley Edmunds, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Edmunds on Thursday, Dec. 27, 1951 at the First Methodist Church, Marion.

Miss Ella Meier began work Jan. 2 as kindergarten teacher in the Hillsboro schools.

A large crowd of men and boys were out to Youngtown Monday for the wolf hunt. One coyote was killed and quite a few got away. The 4-H club served lunch to the group at noon at the Youngtown school house.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Utting announce the arrival of their daughter, Billie Jean, Dec. 27 at Salem Hospital, Hillsboro. The Uttings also have a son, Stanley.

Most of the folks around Antelope saw the old year out and the new one in by attending either a party at the Alvin Loveless home or the one at the schoolhouse given by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowyer. The party at the Loveless home also honored the birthday of Mrs. Paul Heise.

Robert F. Richmond left Wednesday for Norfolk, Va., where his ship is in dry dock.
