Marion High School's one-act play cast shared top honors Saturday with Wichita Southeast High School when they received a I rating at the state play festival in Lawrence. The play, "Time Limit," was coached by Mrs. Loris Reed. Members of the cast were Laurence Priddle, Neil Hoopes, Junior Post, Wayne Thies, Jim Christensen, Paul Schmersey, Paul Ford, Junior Bledsoe, Tom Shirley, and Richard Vogel. This is the fourth consecutive year playcasts coached by Mrs. Reed have been successful in winning first place for Marion High School.

Folks in Marion who tuned in to a Wichita TV station last Thursday saw Mrs. Frank Tajchman and her daughter, Mrs. Harold Byram of Haysville, on the Party Line show with John Froome as MC. Mrs. Tajchman received two boxes of advertised products and she and her daughter were guests at one of the nice restaurants in Wichita for dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Varenhorst entertained with a party at the city building Saturday evening honoring their son Dick's 14th birthday. Young folks who were guests included Karen Schroeder, Deanna Klenda, Deanna Kimble, Vicki Lorts, Connie Fisher, Julia Spulling, Faith Kelsey, Georgie Helmer, Donna Newsom, Sandra Jackson, Carol Kline, Charlotte Langley of Winfield, Mary Ann Miesse of Bonner Springs, Gerry Roberts, Dick Morse, Dennis Pankratz, Dennis Schroeder, Ron and Don Druse, Bob Klose, Tim Williams, James Robert Meisner, Laurence Webster, Mike Childs, Gary King, and Tom Good.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sandwell announce the engagement of their daughter, Cora Margaret Sandwell, to Mr. Donald Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Rogers.
