The new Evangelical United Brethren parsonage at 218 Elm Street will be dedicated Sunday by Bishop C.H. Stauffacher of Kansas City, Mo., bishop of the southwest area of the EUB church.
New officers of the Marion High School unit of the Future Farmers of America were installed last Friday. They are: Joe Sklenar, president; Max Hayen, vice president; Roger Richmond, secretary; Roger Pankratz, treasurer; Don Longhofer, reporter; and Jon Soyez, sentinel.
Sixty-seven Marion County rural school graduates will take part in the annual graduation exercises Monday evening in the Marion City Auditorium. Mendal B. Miller, president of Central College, McPherson, will give the address. The graduates are from 31 of the county's rural schools and for the first time in years will be together.
A group of Explorer Scouts and their dates went to Wichita Saturday evening where they were guests of Wichita University at the annual Quivera Council Explorer's Ball. Jack Seaton, sponsor of this division of scouting, accompanied the boys. Kenneth Swanson and Miss Loyette Hollar also went with the group which included Howard Williams, Kay Navrat, Donald Winter, Nancy Keazer, Dick Hoch, Arlene Kline, Oscar Davies, Roma Collett, Jerry Richards, and Deloris Reed.
The high school triple trio and Neva Stenzel participated in the state music festival Saturday at Emporia. Members in the triple trio are Nancy Allen, Neva Stenzel, Karen Brodhead, Nancy Broadstreet, Kay Navrat, Judy Thatch, Shirley Tiemeier, Anita Collett, and Carolyn Merrill. The accompanist was Marilyn Reh.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tajchman entertained with a surprise birthday supper Tuesday evening for Gerald and Virginia whose birthdays both fall on April 21. Others who enjoyed the supper were Georgene Tajchman, Harold Byram, Dorothy and Darlene Richmond, Father Paul Meier, Mike Brodhead, JoAnn Stroda, and Mrs. Ruby Brown.
