Thieves took the school safe from the Burns High School building Thursday night or Friday morning in an apparently perfect disappearing act. The safe, which stood probably 2 1/2 feet tall, was taken down two full flights of stairs. Ropes from scenery on the school stage apparently had been used to slide the safe down the steps. At landings it was rolled on its wheels to the next flight. The safe contained only a few dollars.
