Kenneth Heinz announced this week that he has purchased the former Janzen Jewelry store in Marion and the business will now be known as Heinz Jewelry. He has been manager of the store here since the summer of 1951 and has made a number of friends in the community who will be happy to learn of his purchase. The store was formerly owned by Wilbur Janzen, Hillsboro.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Slocombe announce the engagement of their daughter, LaVonne, to Roger W. Hannaford, son of Mrs. Roger Hannaford, Marion. A fall wedding is planned.

Ronald Hiebert, who has been pitching for the American Legion junior baseball team here, and the Marion High School team for the past four years, has been signed by the Ban Johnson League ball club at Lyons.

Mr. and Mrs. Rosse B. Case are the parents of a son, Rosse Braddock Case II, who was born at 6:30 p.m. May 13 at St. Luke Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces. He has a sister Tamara.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kristek announce the marriage of their daughter, Evelyn Pauline, to Gene R Grogan, son of Mrs. A.R. Grogan, Ponca City, Okla., April 25 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Wichita.

This year's high school seniors who attend the Christian church were guests of honor Thursday at a luncheon. Those present included Nancy Allen, Thelma Jean Seibel, David Wheeler, John Summervill, and Marjorie Razor.

Girl Scout Troop 4 with Mrs. H.L McDaris, leader, and Mrs. Billie Slusser, assistant, gave a tea for the mothers of the girls Thursday afternoon. The girls had made candles which were presented to each mother and had made the cookies used for the tea. The girls are Coleen Allen, Beverly Bredemeier, Tricia Caskey, Clydeen Edmunds, Shirley Hedrick, Wanda Johnson, Donna Kelsey, Sue Haizlip, Karon Highsmith, and Patsy Slusser.
