Ten scouts took part in the "Court of Honor" Monday evening following a potluck supper with their parents in the American Legion hall. New Tenderfoot scouts are Leland Deines, Bill Good, Duane Reed, Jerry Shirley, Virgil A. Wiebe Jr., and Earl Winter. New Second Class scouts are Jimmie Christensen, Neil Hoopes, Laurence Priddle, and Tommy Shirley.

Art Jantz, formerly of Lindsborg, has been hired as the butcher at Al and Dan's Quality Food Market and will be on hand to meet customers during the store's formal opening this Friday.

Patsy Harris asked guests for a one o'clock luncheon Saturday complimenting Miss Loyette Hollar, whose wedding was an event of May 24. Guests included high school friends of the honoree and Patsy. They were Pat Brose, Donna Jean Christensen, Wichita; Mrs. Bill Higgins, El Dorado; Mrs. Jim Young, Clearwater; Mrs. Ted Gill, Beloit; Mary Heath, and one of Loyette's bridal attendants, Miss Ann Lamendola, Topeka.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koch, Florence, entertained last Thursday evening with their annual fish fry. Invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Jost, Hillsboro; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spangler, Peabody; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ehrlich, Marion; George Merilatt, Lost Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Russell, Mr. and Mrs. James Meisner and James Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Hazel Meierhoff, Misses Dorothy Shahan and Glenda Koch of Marion, and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Williams and Dale, Florence.

Cpl. Jack Beaston arrived home Saturday from a year's service overseas, most of the time in Tokyo where he was a hospital assistant. He was separated from the army at Camp Carson, Colo.
