Among those who watched the face-lifting of the Marion Street pavement last week, none was more interested than Lindsay King. King has his fingerprints on a lot of the bricks that went into the paving. He came to Marion first to work on the paving job which began Aug. 1, 1912.

The formal opening of Seymour Packing Co. in its redecorated facilities last Saturday was a huge success. The following people were prize winners: Sol Schuber won a prize for the most feed bought during the day, Raymond Kraus brought in the most eggs, Dave Helmer had the most poultry, and Sidney Symes came the most miles. Others prizes went to Mrs. William Razor, Mike Stika, Earnest Thompson, Mrs. Frank Vlk, John Haas, Donna Williams, Rudolph Kotelensky, Darrel Helmer, Paul Koegeboehn, and Virgil Allen.

Mrs. Edward Costello and Mrs. Scottie G. Gound have asked small guests for a party Friday afternoon. The occasion is the third birthday of Pat Costello and the fourth of Kenny Gound. Invited guests include Helen Jackson, Susan Hansen, Tamara Case, JorgeAnn Gound, Bruce Schmidt, Joel, Gerry, and Doug Newlin, Patty Sue Plenert, Cathleen Costello, Darold and David Longhofer, David and Jimmy Magee, George Jackson, Bobby Hoch, and Bobby Elling.

Dave Montgomery won both the medalist and handicap golf trophies last Sunday at the Country Club with a score of one under par for 69 in the medalist event and a net of 66 for handicap. Max Jackson was first in the second flight with 79. Bill Utting took second with 82, and Leslie Broadstreet was third with 83.

Mrs. Rosse B. Case, Mrs. H.L. McDaris, and Mrs. Herbert Meier are entertaining guests this evening, Thursday, with a linen shower at the McDaris home complimenting Miss Jean Hagans, Manhattan, whose engagement to Naval Cadet Alex Case Jr. has been announced.
