Bud Pierce entered Wesley Hospital Saturday for treatment. His room number is 528 in case any of his friends are in Wichita and want to call on him.

Final details were completed this week on the purchase of the John Gardner estate properties on Main Street by Riddle Quarries, Inc. The buildings are on the south side of the 300 block on East Main and adjoin the new Gound Motor Company building on the west. They include Beaston's Market, the former Long Cleaners, and the Winchester Barber Shop.

Serving aboard the battleship USS New Jersey which is undergoing a four week refresher training cruise in the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, area is Robert F. Richmond, boilerman third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. Richmond, Marion.

Bruce Wingerd and Dick Hoch are leaving early Saturday morning by bus for a week's vacation at Camp Pine Crest near Palmer Lake, Colo. This boys camp is maintained and operated by the Methodist church.

Officer Pete Schambron was in Lawrence last week attending a school for peace officers held on the University of Kansas campus.

Miss Vernie Vinduska entertained at dinner Sunday evening members of the wedding party of Mary Jane Stuchlik and Marcel Steiner preceding the rehearsal for the ceremonies which occurred Monday. Those present included Father William Steiner, S.J., Miss Stuchlik, Marcel Steiner, Georgene Tajchman, Sylvia Ladman, Alfred Steiner, Johnny and Alex Stuchlik.

Tim Burkholder, who has been with the Army in Alaska, arrived in Marion Friday evening and will visit friends before going on to New York City for the remainder of his leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Burkholder.
