The post offices at Aulne and Canada will be closed at the end of this month, and the patrons of those two communities will get their mail in the future from Homer Stiller, Marion carrier on Rural Route 1. No word has yet been received about possible action to be taken regarding the post offices at Antelope and Pilsen.

All veterans with overseas duty are invited to a free stag party by the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the local VFW clubhouse next Thursday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Edmunds are the happy parents of a baby boy born at St. Luke Hospital Sunday, Feb. 7. They have named him Michael Ralph.

Mrs. Virgil Weber entertained Friday afternoon with a party in honor of her daughter, Kathleen Anne, to celebrate her third birthday. Guests included the following children and their mothers: Galen and Ginger Helmer, Rita Kay Kreutziger, Teresa Seifert, Marsha Childs, Steve Patton, and Junior and David Gooding.

Four new cheerleaders were elected at Kansas State last week to direct the Cat cheers at all athletic events. Mary Hannaford, daughter of Mrs. Norma Hannaford, was chosen as one of the new members of the cheering squad. Mary is a sophomore and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Mr. and Mrs. James Conyers held open house Sunday in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. All of the Conyers family which includes 11 children with their husbands, wives, and children were able to be present for this important event. The Conyers family includes Frank Conyers, Lingle, Wyoming; Clarence Conyers, Willard Conyers, Henrietta Richmond, Mable Williams, Bessie Bass, Glen Conyers, Marion; Bernice Sturdy, Louise Grubb and Hazel Smith, Wichita; and Harold Conyers, Chicago.

Max Merrill will leave today (Thursday) for Minneapolis, Minn., with other members of the Phi Delta Theta basketball team from KU to play in a national tournament sponsored by the Phi Delts at the University of Minnesota.
