The annual Senior Class play will be presented Friday evening at the city auditorium. The cast of "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" includes the following: Mickey Seaton, Elda Pankratz, Margie Bernhardt, John Minear, Margaret McClain, Bruce Coe, Bob Eckstrom, Warren Gardner, Wade Robertson, Maxine Hinz, Mary Lou Conyers, Roland Vogel, Jon Thole, Johnny Price and Frank Leutschaft. The play is directed by Mrs. Loris Reed.
Mrs. Nellie Whitford and Mary Coffin had guests at a birthday dinner Wednesday evening. They were Miss Lois Heath and Miss Florence Courtney of Cedar Rest, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Plue and Miss Nettie Stone. The dinner was to honor the April birthdays of Mrs. Plue, Miss Courtney and Miss Coffin.
Sandra Kay Anderson celebrated her fourth birthday Sunday by inviting some of her little friends in to spend the afternoon with her. Invited guests included Brenda Helmer, Joyce, Mary and Bill Ford and their mother Mrs. Leslie Ford, Karen Young, Dannie Frickey and his mother Mrs. Ed Frickey, Michael Edmunds, Diana Evans, Ginger Helmer, Janel Klose, Debi Case, Debbie Vogel and her mother Mrs. Dale Vogel, Cherri Ottensmeier, Dickie Myers of Mission and his mother, Mrs. Jay Myers.
Miss Hannah Marie Keil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gotfried Keil, and Mr. Eldred C. Riffel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Riffel, Ramona, were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lincolnville, at 7:30 p.m. April 13.
"The Seven Last Words of Christ," a beautiful Easter cantata, was given by singers from the various Marion churches Sunday evening under the direction of Otto Funk. Solo parts were sung by Bud Pierce, James Criswell, G. Carol Gilbert, Mrs. Wayne Varenhorst, Byron Patton and Juanita Kelsey.
