Choice of the Marion High School "M" Club athletes for their Homecoming Queen this year was Arlene Klein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klein. She was presented to the homecoming crowd November 17 at half-time of the Marion-Council Grove football game by the team captain, Edward Davies.

Two of the Hett brothers, Tom and Russell, this week completed plans to purchase the John Deere implement agency from Carl Elling. They also have purchased the building on West Main belonging to Marium Webster and are soon moving stock and parts into their new quarters.

Anita Jo Hoffman celebrated her birthday Saturday with a party in the afternoon for which Carol Ann Bowers, Verna Helmer, Susan Kay Lentz, Elaine Rogers, Jackie Thomas, Bobby, Johnnie and Belita Winchester, Janet Varenhorst, and Larry and Glenn Bartel were invited.

Births announced in this issue include a daughter, Janet Lynne, born Nov. 24 to Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Ehrlich and a son, Gail Lee, born Nov. 28 to Mr. and Mrs. Florian Makovec.

Coach Ed Frickey said, "A fine close to a fine season on a fine day," after his team walked off with the honors at Peabody on Thanksgiving afternoon. Marion won, 13 to 6.

Cecil Bruner, district maintenance engineer for the state highway department, was quite badly injured last Wednesday evening when his car went off the road near Florence. He suffered a broken chest bone and rib and cuts and bruises, but is making a good recovery at St. Luke Hospital.
