Work on rebuilding the fire-weakened wall at the Wheeler building, Main and 5th streets, is almost finished. All Loose mortar was cleaned out and a new layer of concrete was blown on under pressure after the wall had been completely covered with reinforcing steel net which had been anchored to the old wall. Part of the old YMCA wall which extended farther north than the Wheeler building has been torn down.

Candidates for three positions on the Marion District No. 1 school board will be voted upon at the time of the regular Marion city election on April 5. The present incumbents in the three positions are James Meisner, E.K. Schroeder and T.C. Ensey.

The Kreutziger community entertained with a one-act comedy at the Morning Star community meeting Thursday evening. Jerry Siebert gave a recitation, the Langley sisters did some twirling and the "Plainsmen" a musical ensemble consisting of Leppke, Delk, Hannaman, Roberts, Dunn and Kieferle played some numbers. Coffee and hot dogs were served.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Winkley gave a birthday party for their daughter Ruby's ninth birthday Monday evening. They entertained the Finch School pupils and teacher for supper. Present were Dayle and Deloise Funk, Eddie and Leroy Schmidt, Maurice Just, Billy and Ruby Winkley and their teacher, Mrs. Clarence Harms and Mr. Harms.
