Three more one-teacher rural schools in Marion County have notified County Superintendent C.C. Rice that they will not operate a school next year. They are District 87 (Warren) located between Canada and Durham; District 99 (Greenfield) located southeast of Goessel; and District 56, east of Marion.

One of the boldest car robberies to be reported in this county for many years occurred sometime in the early evening last Thursday when thieves broke into the Cook Motor Company garage here and disappeared with a brand new 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Nine Marion County 4-H'ers and three leaders returned last week from a 10-day exchange visit to Georgia. The group from Marion County included 4-H'ers John Summervill, Alfred Konarik and Joyce Conyers, Marion; Garry Hanneman and Mary Gaines, Peabody; Virgil Funk, Hillsboro; Betty Sellers, Florence; Jim Moffitt, Tampa; Arlene Schmidt, Goessel. Leaders were Jean Engle, Paul Mayginnes and Milford Blair.

Guests of Mrs. Norma Hannaford and Mary on Sunday for the christening service for Mrs. Hannaford's grandson, Little Roger William Hannaford III, at the Presbyterian church, were Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hannaford, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Slocombe, Miss Janet Slocombe of Peabody and Robert Exline of Salina.

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Longhofer announce the marriage of their daughter, Theodora to Mr. Harry Lee Koslowsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koslowsky, Peabody June 17 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Marion.

Jeanette Russell and Roma Collett returned Sunday from a week spent at Girls' State on the campus of the University of Kansas.
