Sale of the physical property, real estate and other property of the abandoned New Hope school, two miles north and one and one-half west of Aulne, is advertised this week by the Aulne school district, with which the New Hope school has combined.

Kenneth Van Cleave, who has been with the Soil Conservation Service here for the past six years, will assume the duties of the Work Conservationist for Greenwood County. The new position comes as a nice advancement of Mr. Van Cleave.

About 300 citizens of the proposed consolidated high school district which would supplant the present high school districts of Ramona, Lost Springs, Burdick in Morris County, and Lincolnville, attended a meeting at Lost Springs Monday night at which time the three-man board was selected. The three members are George Merilatt, Al Riffel, and Keith Nelson.

Relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bowers Sr. Saturday evening for a watermelon feed and to say goodbye to Vernon Bowers who left Sunday for Great Lakes Naval Training Center. The Youngtown baseball team, on which Vernon had been playing, were special guests.

John R. Williams, 3/C, a sophomore at the U.S. Naval Academy, is aboard the USS Destroyer Sigourney on a training cruise in the Atlantic. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Williams, Marion.

Kenneth Hett, son of Conrad Hett, Marion, is a recent graduate of the Weaver Airline Personnel School at Kansas City, Mo. He has been assigned to the position of transportation agent for Frontier Lines and will be stationed at Denver. Mr. Hett is a graduate of Marion High School

Mary Ann Svitak had a birthday party Sunday afternoon planned by her sister, Judy, and Gretchen Rudolph. Invited guests were Paulette and Marcia Bezdek, Jane Ann Bina, Mary Jane Krotz, Nancy Klenda, Linda Loney, Anita, Lenore and Luella Rudolph, Christie Silhan, Theresa Stika, Ella Mae Tajchman, Carolyn Vinduska, Dorothy Vinduska and Carol Sue Vinduska.
