Marion citizens will be limited beginning tomorrow, Friday, in the use of water from the city mains. Continued drouth with constantly lessening supply in the river has brought the storage supply to where curtailment is necessary, city officials said.
The second of the two immunizationing shots of the Salk anti-polio vaccine will be given to most Marion County first and second grade students next Tuesday morning, according to word from T.C. Ensey, health officer.
Sharon Nelson asked friends for a party Thursday afternoon celebrating her 10th birthday. Mrs. Harry Nelson took the girls to the Hillsboro swimming pool, later returning them to the Nelson home for refreshments. Invited guests were Cindy Hume, Helen Olsen, Helen Langley, Mary Stephens, Rose Marion Loveless and Anita Schlehuber.
Mr. and Mrs. Enos Kapaun, accompanied by Bishop Mark Carroll, Wichita, were in Chicago the last of the week where they accepted the emblem of the Legion of Merit on behalf of their son Chaplain Capt. Emil J. Kapaun, who lost his life in a Korean prisoner of war camp. Bishop Carroll announced that Wichita citizens had pledged $1,250,000 for a living memorial to Capt. Kapaun, in the form of a boys' high school at Wichita.
Sandra Jackson entertained a group of friends last Thursday evening at a wiener roast and swim at the Country Club. Later the girls returned to the Jackson home for a slumber party. Sandra's guests were Gerry Herzet, Karen Schroeder, Donna Newsom and Deanna Kimball.
