Funeral services were held this morning for Gary Alan Glover, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Glover who drowned in Mud Creek Monday. The boy was victim of a tragedy of mysterious circumstances. At press time no report of any witness to the drowning was available, and it was assumed that no such person existed.

Six Boy Scouts of Marion Troop No. 102 and their leader, James Meisner, enjoyed a week of camping and scout activities at the Quivera council's Camp Ta-Wa-Ko-Ni near Augusta. Scouts who attended were Dick Morse, James Robert Meisner, Larry Evans, Gailen Broadstreet, Steve Greenemeyer, and Mike Childs.

Mr. and Mrs. George Jost of Hillsboro will be honored Saturday when the Skelly Oil Co., gives them the W.G. Skelly Agricultural Achievement award, which includes a $100 United States savings bond, gold lapel pin, and scroll. In a year's time, the Josts marketed almost 300,000 pounds of milk, 2,190 dozen eggs and more than 2,000 pounds of lamb.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Yaussi entertained Monday evening with a picnic in honor of their houseguests Mr. and Mrs. Harry James and three children of Horton. Mr. James was a former teacher of the seventh and eighth grade in Marion. Those attending the picnic were members of the classes Mr. James taught. Included were Margie Bernhardt, Margaret McClain, Elda Pankratz, Pat Dixon, Betty Mathews, Johnsie Just, Mary Lou Conyers, Joyce Pientka, Jeanne Kline, Roland Vogel, Wade Robertson, Dale Johnston, John Minear, Warren Gardner, Bob Eckstrom, John Price, Don McCarty, Harold Hein, Eugene Hedrick, Jon Thole, Bruce Coe, Willard Hett, Wayne Bratton, Bill Burkholder, Larry Olsen, and Mickey Seaton.

Earl Winter had the misfortune Monday to fall and break his arm. He, with his brother, Victor, are spending he week at the Virgil Wiebe home, Durham.

Janice Childs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Childs, celebrated her eighth birthday with a wiener roast in their back yard, Wednesday, August 1. Invited were Suzanne Bailey, Loretta Smith, Pamela Vinduska, Pat Warneke, Elaine Rogers, Anita VanBuren, and Connie Allen.

In a double ring ceremony performed July 31 in the base chapel at Chateauroux, France, Miss Madelyn Reznicek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reznicek of Lost Springs, became the bride of Lt. Joseph D. Saccone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Angela Saccone, Boston, Mass.
