During the severe windstorm last week which caused widespread damage mostly across the north part of Marion County, the wind lifted a garage at the Andrew Buxman farm just west of Ramona. Mr. Buxman's new 1956 Chevrolet was parked nearby; his son's new Chevrolet was inside the garage. The building was lifted off of the one and crashed down on top of the other. The body was a complete loss, beyond repair. The car which was inside as damaged only slightly.

Mrs. Edward Good invited several small friends and their mother in Tuesday afternoon in celebration of her son Mike's third birthday. Those present included Eric Meyer and his mother Mrs. Bill Meyer, Doug Keazer and his mother, Mrs. Harold Keazer, Dean Ensey and Mrs. T.C. Ensey, Karen Pankratz and Mrs. Earl Pankratz and Pamela Slusser and Mrs. Alden Slusser.

Alfred Friesen of Hillsboro and his 3-year-old son Davie are both in quite serious condition in the LosAngeles, California, General Hospital, with polio. Another polio case reported this week is that of Nancy Jean Funk, 4-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Funk of Hillsboro.

The following girls had a slumber party Monday night at the Claud Dixon home: Delores Schafers, Joyce Pientka, Johnsie Just and Pat Dixon The party was in honor of Delores' birthday.

Youngtown and Aulne ball teams played off a tie for first place in the league Monday night with Youngtown winning 11-4. Those who played on the team were Vernon Bowers, John Gutsch, Harold Bowers Jr., Gail Dody, Howard Collett, Willie Hammer, Max Hayen, Bob Geis, and R.J. Bateman. When Vernon left for the Navy, Johnny Higgins took a spot on the team. Cy Goertz was their manager.

Debbie Wygle invited a few little friends in Friday afternoon for a party in celebration of her fourth birthday. She was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Wm. Wygle and her younger sister, Janice. Guests at the party included Shelley Batt, Debi Case, Debbie Vogt, Beverly Elling and JoAnn Stroda.

Mrs. Frank Hagans came from Manhattan Thursday to spend some time with her daughter, Mrs. Alex Case Jr. and family, and to help care for the new baby girl at the Case home.

Steven Childs celebrated his 7th birthday by inviting friends for a wiener roast in his back yard Sunday evening, August 12. Those invited were Neil Colle, Chuck Bredemeier, Eddie Frickey, Wayne King and Maurice Allen.
