Two Spanish-American War veterans, W.S. McKibbin of Marion and Harry B. Embree of Peabody, got together with their wives at the McKibbin home Monday for a renewal of a friendship that dates back to August 15, 1899, when the two men enlisted in Company K, 35th Infantry, of the U.S. Volunteers. "This is the 56th anniversary of our enlistment, and we always look forward to getting together," the two "old soldiers" said.
Two Marion Boy Scouts, Michael Seaton and Earl Winter, and former Marion Scoutmaster and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wiebe and son Junior of Durham, leave Saturday to attend the eighth World Jamboree at Niagara-on-the-Lake. They will be gone 10 days.
The situation "is critical" and the people of Marion are not cooperating in the effort to conserve the limited water supply that is available. The city commission wants to enforce the watering schedule on a friendly basis, but will punish repeated offenders with the law if needed.

Heidel; and a daughter Lou Ann born to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Meirowsky, Florence.
