Mr. E.V Cook, who has operated the Marion Bakery for a couple of years under lease from Dave Greenemeyer, left last week to take a job in a bakery in Newton. Mr. Greenemeyer reopened the bakery this week and is operating it himself, again.

Mrs. D.A. Price entertained Saturday afternoon with a party in honor of her son John's third birthday. Those present were Dean Klenda, Larry and Gary Knackstedt, John and Pauline Minear, Carolyn Merrill, Carol Hollar, Elaine Winslow, Robert Mehlinger, and Ginger and John Price. Mothers present were Mrs. Minear, Mrs. Klenda, and Mrs. Winslow.

Members of the Up 'n' At'tem Club went to the home of Mrs. D.N. Ehrlich Friday evening and surprised Miss Nellie Boyer, one of their members. Each guest took her a handkerchief as a remembrance. She left Tuesday for her new position at Eureka.

The Marion school band, under the direction of Wyatt Cooper, played at the Hutchinson Fair Thursday, and also broadcasted over the Hutchinson station.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hauser are the parents of a daughter, Lucinda Anne, weighed six and one-fourth pounds, born Monday, Sept. 28, at Wesley Hospital in Wichita. Wedding write-ups in this week's paper are those of Miss Evelyn Pospisil and Mr. Melvin Strecker, Miss Eldena Sampson and Mr. Cyrus Goertz, and Miss Laurene Matthews and Mr. Clinton L. Williams.

Miss Marjorie Klassen entertained Tuesday evening with a farewell party and bridal shower for Miss Kathryn Heiser whose marriage to Mr. Ezra Schmipf will be in October. Miss Heiser has been employed in the county treasurer's office. She has resigned her position and left for her home in Ramona on Thursday.
