Santa Claus came to Marion Saturday afternoon and treated the children to sacks of candy and oranges. He also gave away 1,000 new pennies. Buster Beisel drew the grand prize of $30 which had accumulated from the previous two Saturday drawings.
The committee comprised of out of town people judged the home decorations Sunday night. First prize of $5 went to Arthur Schmersey; second, $3, to Mart Sanders; and third, $2 to Chas. Niederhauser. The following each received one dollar prizes: D.B. Jantz, Mrs. John Greer, John Zook, Dan Mehl, and Mrs. Helen Fairbrother.
Mrs. Lillian Pierce went to Manhattan Friday to get Thelma who spent her vacation with home folks. Other from KSAC to spend their vacation here are Miss Frances Williams, Miss Corrine Nelson, Miss Irma Popp. Miss Ruth Elaine Kreuter, James Kline, Junior Thies, Beryl Miesse, and Leonard Kirchner.
Mrs. Elmer Scott entertained her Sunday school class of junior high age at a wiener roast and Christmas party last Friday night at her home. Members of the class are Betty Jean Kitterman, Nadine Hett, Rose Marie Avery, Lawrence Schwendiman. Harold Conyers, Bobby Turner, and Donald Hoover.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fairbrother entertained the members of their store force with a Christmas party at their home Thursday night. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Marion Alspaw, Mrs. Howard Ford, Miss Mary Plett, Miss Dorothy Powell, Miss Cecelia Soyez, Miss Mary Mae Christensen, Bill Wright, Alfred Chill, and Harry Hein.
Members of the Loyal Sisters SS class of the Methodist church had their Christmas party Friday evening at the home of Donna Hobein. Class members are Doris Smithheiser, Donna Hobein, Wanda Williams, Darlene Anderson, Dorothy McCarty, Janice Buford, and Virginia Weber.
