Mr. Swink of Wichita was here Tuesday evening for the Court of Honor for Boys Scouts held in the high school auditorium. Mr. Don Fisher accepted the charter for the American Legion, sponsors of the Boys Scouts, then presented it to Scoutmaster Rev. Pfautz. Mac Kreuter was advanced to Star Scout and the following four boys received their tenderfoot badges: Herbert Meier, Donald Wright, Elton Peterson, and Melvin Christner.

The first local members of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps gained membership in that organization this week. They are Mary Margaret McGhay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. McGhay, and Claudine Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Dixon.

Misses Annabelle and Mary Alice Rees entertained the members of the finance committee of the Girl Reserve at a chili supper. Miss Elizabeth Little, sponsor of the committee, was a guest.

Miss Irene Mott entertained her Sunday school class of the Evangelical church with a Valentine party Tuesday evening at her home. Those present were Misses Ailene and Arlene Pierce, Vivian Pierce, Vivian Kline, Dixie Bledsoe, Dorene Stenzel, Donna Powell, and Rose Mary Avery.

Mrs. Earl Kreuter entertained the Kensington Club and guests Thursday afternoon at her home. Guests other than club members were Mrs. Hazel Meierhoff, Mrs. Leslie Powell, and Mrs. Emory Hawbecker. Score prizes were won by Mrs. Alex Case and Mrs. Meierhoff, high; Mrs. Powell, low; and Mrs. J.E. Tibbetts, galloping prize.

The loss of Dale Miller who has been in the high school as teacher, coach, principal over a period of a dozen years, is a real loss to the community and the school. The Record regrets that at the time of his going, he could not have been sent away with a kindly feeling instead one of bitterness toward the town. And we believe it could have been so done. Twelve years of fine service should merit a better ending.
