The cast and coach, Miss Elizabeth Little, of the senior play, "The Family Upstairs," deserve high praise for their performance last Thursday evening. The high school orchestra under the direction of Wyatt Cooper furnished music preceding the play and the girls' quartet composed of Norma Jean Amick, Virginia Ayler, Vivian Klein, and Wilma Jean Knight gave several excellent selections between acts. Florence Irene King acted as business manager, Monette Avery, advertising manager; Mary Ann Barrett, Florene Patton, Anna Belle Ree, managers; and Ralph Johnston, Harold Woerz, stage managers.
Miss Esther Mae Olsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.L. Olsen, Marion, became the bride of Sgt. John H. Dwyer Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John H Dwyer of Syracuse, N.Y., in a simple ceremony Tuesday evening in the rectory of St. John's Catholic church.
Little Vernon Bowers of the Youngtown area had the misfortune to rebreak his arm Saturday when he fell from the chicken house.
Mr. and Mrs. John Dixon entertained the Bell Telephone force and their husbands or wives at a party Tuesday evening. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fruechting, Mr. and Mrs. Hazel Meierhoff, Mrs. Carson Martin, Miss Mary Ray, Miss Dorothy Powell, Miss Ruth Macon, Miss Lillie Keazer, and Delores Hobson.
Miss Beryl Razor of Manhattan was guest of honor at a bridal shower Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Harvey Hett. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. Nodie Baker, Mrs. Alice Padgett, Mrs. Floyd Padgett, Mrs. Orville Miesse, and Miss Maude Thompson. Miss Razor will be married April 24 at Manhattan to Wm. Thies Jr.
