Max Tharp of the Aulne neighborhood was brought to Marion Hospital Saturday suffering with a .22 cal. wound in the calf of his leg. He and two friends, Walter and Russell Hett, were riding horseback, having driven cattle to pasture. Max took out his revolver to shoot a rabbit. As he did not shoot, he went to place the gun on safety, but it slipped and went off, the bullet going into his leg.
